FTSE linked investments offer an enhanced rate of return by linking the performance of the investment to the level of the stock market.
HBFS entered the FTSE Linked Investment or Structured Product market in 2010 and our strong connections to High Street Banks allow us to access offers that may not be available elsewhere and which can provide very attractive opportunities to the right clients.
An example would be as follows:
An investment which gives capital back plus say 8.5%, if the FTSE, on the anniversary of the opening date of the product, has gone up from its opening position. If it has not, there is no pay out and the product rolls for a further 12 months and the FTSE is again scrutinised on the 2nd anniversary. If the FTSE has then gone up from its original position, the investment capital is redeemed, with 2 lots of say 8.5% paid as interest.
These products do include a risk to Capital - and there is issuer risk – meaning that if the institution issuing the product goes into liquidation, the Capital is at risk.
Interest payments are charged to Capital Gains Tax. The return quoted makes an allowance for fees and no further charges or deductions are applied.
Details of our current offers are available in Featured Products.
